Mngoma (28) is about 20 weeks pregnant, and she is expecting her bundle of joy in mid-November.
This was revealed by a pregnant source who attends the same antenatal facility with Mngoma at Morningside Mediclinic, north of Joburg.
The woman, who asked not to be named, was excited because she believes they conceived at almost the same time.
“Maybe our children will be twins,” said the giggling woman, who said she lived in Sunninghill.
“I bumped into her at the gynae at the end of May when I went to do my first trimester screening exam.
“She was also there. I didn’t talk to her though because I was shy.
“And I thought she would think I am a groupie. I am too mature for that.
“At the time I was 13 weeks into my pregnancy and she didn’t look anything bigger than me. So I think we (might deliver at) around the same time.
“I like her. She’s a cool woman who is never in newspapers for wrong reasons.
“I wish we could have our children on the same day. She is such a great person.”
The woman said Bantwini (36) was with Mngoma on the day she spotted her visiting the doctor.
“Yes, she was accompanied by Zakhele,” she said, referring to Bantwini’s real name, Zakhele Madida.
When Sunday World contacted the new mommy-to-be and congratulated her, she said she and her partner “have not yet sent a formal statement about the pregnancy”.
She then asked to be e-mailed questions which she forwarded to her publicist.
“Neither Nandi nor Zakes have given comment to confirm any of these rumours,” said the response from her media handlers.
Mngoma, who is a respected actress, singer and TV presenter, first burst onto the scene 13 years ago as a child presenter on the show Bling on SABC2.
She was recently seen on Mzansi Magic telenovela The Road, and she presented All Access Mzansi with ProVerb and Dineo Ranaka on the same channel.
Her debut single Tonight, released in 2011, was followed by the album Nandi the following year.
Bantwini is credited with discovering Durban kwaito sen sation, L’vovo Derrango. He produced the country’s first live house DVD , which won him several Metro FM and Channel O a wards.
